Your mindset plays an important role in achieving your success, whether it’s for minor or major goals. With minor, day-to-day goals, you know what you want to achieve. However, when it comes to major goals it is different. You might have a vague idea, but this is not enough. To accomplish anything you set your mind to, you have to know exactly what it is you want to achieve. In order to do this, you need a clear and well defined path. The question is how will you achieve this?

There are four steps to be followed:

  • You have to think and find out what it is that you really want to accomplish or gain. This might not be a simple step and it requires much thought and time
  • You need to come up with a plan of action. You need to figure out the necessary steps. This requires planning and mind power
  • You need to maintain a clear image of your goal. You need to see it accomplished. This step requires that you use your imagination, which is an essential step of mind power. You have to visualise a clear image of what you want. It needs regular training. Look at photos of what you want to achieve and then close your eyes and try to see it in your imagination. This will enhance your visualisation ability
  • Motivation is another mental and emotional power that you require for achieving success. How can you achieve anything if you are not motivated enough? To increase your motivation and enthusiasm, think often of your goal. What are its advantages and benefits and how will it change your life? Doing this will strengthen your motivation

The thoughts you hold in your mind possess power. The thoughts that you think of most often tend to come true. If you pour your mental energy into the same thoughts or mental images day after day, they will become stronger and will consequently affect your attitude, expectations, behaviour and actions. These thoughts and mental images can even be subconsciously perceived by other people, who would then offer you help or opportunities.

Your thoughts can also create what is usually termed as coincidence. They can attract into your life corresponding events, situations and opportunities. Not every thought turns into reality. A thought has to be repeated often and saturated with desire in order for it to come true. Doubt, fear and worry tend to destroy what you build with the power of your mind. So clear away your negative thoughts and doubts, as nothing is impossible.

The thoughts that pass through your mind are responsible for everything that happens in your life. Your predominant thoughts influence your behaviour and attitude and control your actions and reactions. As your thoughts are, so is your life. If you plant seeds, water them and give them fertiliser, they will grow into healthy and strong plants. Thought, like seeds, have a natural tendency to grow and manifest on the material level if they are fed with attention and interest. Your thoughts pass from your conscious mind to your subconscious mind, which in turn influences your actions in accordance with these thoughts. Your thoughts also pass to other minds and consequently to people who are in a position to help you and might offer you their help without even knowing why. 

The power of your mind is part of the creative power of the universe, which means that your thoughts work together with the universal mind. You may wonder how this happens, or is it just a suspicion but you have to believe. Believing is something that has a great deal of impact on your life. Pay attention to your thoughts. Do your best to think about good, happy and positive results. Most people don't know or don't believe that it is possible to change their way of thinking. The reality of this possibility has never occurred to them. There are people who have this knowledge and make the effort. If they persist in their efforts to become more conscious of their thinking process, and attempt to control and filter the contents of their minds, they realise in a practical and direct way that their thoughts are creative and possess power. By possessing these you will become the boss of your mind.

‘When you master your mind, you master your world.’ We all possess various inner powers, but they are often in a dormant state. In order to awaken these inner powers special training and inner work is required. Sometimes, due to various unpredicted circumstances, these powers might manifest unexpectedly. To awake you inner spirit you need to have willpower, self-confidence and peace of mind. The concept of will power is known to all of us, but you may ask how we harness it?

Will power is the inner strength to make decisions, take action and handle and execute any aim or task, regardless of inner resistance, discomfort or difficulty. It manifests as inner firmness, decisiveness, determination, resolution and persistence. Self-confidence is faith in one's abilities, strength and power. Confidence leads to courage by trying new things. A peaceful mind is free from the compulsion of incessant and restless thinking. When thoughts do not disturb the tranquillity of the mind one experiences inner happiness. A person possessing peace of mind is calm and in control. Such a person retains inner balance under almost all conditions and is hardly affected by negative circumstances.

So now you know what mind power is and you understand how to use it to lead a happy life. Whatever happens, don’t lose hope, because a lasting hope can become a miracle. Don’t brood over the past. You have to focus on the present and, whatever you do, do it with passion and determination.
